A Small Act of Kindness

On a rainy afternoon in a crowded city, a young boy noticed an elderly man struggling to carry groceries across the street. Cars rushed past, people hurried by, and no one seemed to notice. The boy quietly stepped forward, took a few of the heavy bags, and walked with the man all the way to his apartment building. The old man smiled and said, “You didn’t have to do that.” The boy simply replied, “My mother says kindness is the easiest way to make the world better.” Sometimes the greatest changes in our communities begin with the smallest gestures.
